The first in line of Ashley Seybolt's Cinderella series, Cinder encaptures the harsh realities of domestic abuse.

Emerging stronger than ever from her abusive family, a young woman named Fiona ventures forward into a better life with her new husband.

But skeletons hidden in closets soon emerge and the 'happily ever after' she thought she was going to get isn't in the cards.

In this dark, modern retelling of the age old classic Cinderella, we watch our main character Fiona climb her way out of the darkness of her family, striving to create a better life. That's when she meets James.

James is a true Prince Charming. He swoops in to be Fiona's knight in shining armor, providing a life for her that until now, Fiona only dreamed of. However, Fiona quickly realizes the reality James creates is only too good to be true.

Drugs, violence and sexual assault become the normal, and as Fiona discovers James' abusive nature, she plans her escape. But no one ever said our Cinderella gets her 'happily ever after', or does she?

"Cinder" is currently in post-production. Filmming wrapped in June 2023.
